Paramount Study  : EdTech Club Teaching Program

Age: 8-11 years

Program Length: 20 weeks

Class Time: Every Friday 4:00-6:00pm

Course Objectives

  • Inspire students’ interest in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
  • Develop students’ critical thinking, experimental design, and problem-solving skills.
  • Help students understand and apply fundamental scientific principles through experiments and interactive activities.
  • Enhance students’ teamwork and hands-on abilities.

Weekly Class Structure

Introduction (15 minutes)

  • Review last week’s content, introduce this week’s theme, and spark students’ interest.

Core Learning (60 minutes)

  • Explain the week’s theme and concepts through lectures, experiments, and demonstrations.
  • Incorporate videos or diagrams to help students better understand abstract concepts.

Hands-on Practice (30 minutes)

  • Students work in groups to conduct experiments or create projects.
  • Hands-on activities deepen understanding through practice, with teachers providing guidance and feedback.

Summary and Discussion (15 minutes)

  • Summarize the lesson’s content and encourage students to ask questions, discuss, and share their experimental results with classmates.

Assessment Methods

  1. Project Presentation:
    • Students demonstrate their understanding and application of knowledge through extracurricular projects or classroom activities.
  2. Classroom Performance:
    • Evaluate students based on their participation, teamwork, and experimental skills during class.
  3. Final Science Exhibition:
    • In the last week, hold a small science exhibition where students showcase their projects and experiments.
    • Parents and classmates can attend to observe and learn about the students’ achievements.

Teaching Resources

  • Physics and chemistry experiment materials (e.g., batteries, wires, magnets, paper, feathers, etc.)
  • Programming tools (e.g., Scratch or other graphical programming platforms)
  • Videos, animations, and diagrams to help students grasp complex scientific concepts
  • 3D printers and related software tools (available depending on circumstances)

By following this course design, students will systematically learn the fundamental principles of science and technology over 20 weeks. Through hands-on experiments and project-based activities, they will cultivate innovative thinking and practical skills.
